How to open a stuck xbox 360 disk drive, without opening it! The fun way!

Exactly as the title says, and it works every time! To only have to do this once, put a disk in the drive, and always keep a disk in the drive (when its not in use) and you will not have to hit it! As the disk drive opens fine with a disk in the drive

Fixing an RRoD’d Xbox 360

So I got given this 360 which didn’t come with any controllers, games or a hard drive, oh and it was RRoD‘ing. I found the error code for my RRoD was 0022 which is a ‘Hardware Failure’ most often affiliating with either the CPU or the GPU overheating. I fixed the RRoD by replacing the (extremely poor quality) thermal paste that is situated between the CPU, the GPU, and their heat sinks. I used a thin hard bit of plastic (my bank card) to scrape off the solids of the compound, then using methylated spirits and a cotton bud or que tip to clean off the remainder on both the heat sinks and the processors. After that I put on a small dap of new thermal paste on the surface of the processors and spread it evenly until the entire surface of all the processors was covered. I placed the Heat sinks back along with the washers and made sure that the bolt/screw-things were done up as tight as I could get it before pressing down extremely hard on both heat sinks to get a decent contact, you need to press down or it will continue to RRoD. These are the steps I took before I started recording this video. Feel free to ask me and before attempting ANY home repairs I strongly suggest looking up the error code to make sure your not trying to “fix” something that’s not broken.
