Is there anyway to fix the red ring of death without sending the xbox back to microsoft? The warranty on my xbox expired.

I am very fed up with my Xbox360 keep having Red Ring of Death and sending back to microsoft and I got to wait for a long time and pay money for it to get it fixed. Any ideas of how to fix Red Ring of Death is much appreciated!

Well my fellow Xbox players I have gotten the RROD and i got no error message. i bought my 360 used so i called microsoft and asked them to fix it well i found a fatal error on my xbox my microsoft seal was completely destroyed i asked them and got no straight answer i told them that the previous owner may have taken it apart but they really did not say much. What do i do?
and it was on the front of the xbox the seal was so im mad now

Let me start by saying that I had no intention to criticize either the XBOX 360 or the Playstation 3. This video is simply showing me fixing a minor annoyance in an XBOX 360 Controller. All that 360/PS3 Fanboy stuff? Keep it to yourselves. I am actually very fond of the 360 Controller due to its’ ergonomically-friendly (more comfortable) design. I’m a proud PS3 owner and I like the Dualshock3 controller but it’s just not as comfortable. This video is mainly for the use of people who are DIY (do-it-yourself) people and wish to open a 360 controller themselves to fix it. I can pretty much guarantee you won’t break your controller as long as you follow what I did in this video. I only left out minor scenes such as unscrewing/rescrewing more screws or wiping the XBOX Button with a cotton ball + rubbing alcohol. Those are self-explanatory. Whoever does use this video for that purpose, good luck to you and I hope you fixed the problem whatever it had been :]

First off i saw this thing called the towel trick that is supposed to work, any suggestions. Also i read somewhere that the red ring of death could be caused by a faulty power supply. How do i check for this? Every time i turn the console on the power box flashes green for an instant then goes to yellow. Please help me ASAP i don’t want to spend the 100 bucks to send it to microsoft and wait 6 weeks.
