How can I repair the ring scratch on my xbox 360 game?

I tried to play my Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 game this evening and it didn’t work. The xbox just displayed the message "open tray" when the game was inserted. The disk itself has a deep ring scratch halfway between the centre and the edge. What can I do? Where can I get the disk repaired? Will there be any lasting damage to my console?

XBox 360 disc drive problems: Should I send it in or take the chance and repair it myself?

I have had my Xbox 360 20GB HDD since November of 2007 and haven’t had any problems with it until this morning. I turned on the system and it didn’t start up the game that’s in the drive like it normally does, so i opened the drive and closed it thinking it maybe just didn’t read it. I have NXE so it said "opening", then "closing", then "reading", but never played the disc. If I listen closely I can hear a quiet whining sound when it says "reading". After looking around online it is apparent that i have disc drive issues and that it is somewhat common for this to happen. So my question is, should I spend the 0 to have Microsoft repair it or should I just buy a new disc drive off of ebay() and install it myself? It has been just over a year since I got the 360 so my warranty is void for everything except 3RROD. I have heard of people complaining with tech support and getting it repaired for free even after their warranty is up, so should I try that first? or don’t they actually do that? Thanks.

My xbox 360 has been freezing up and i got the red ring of death?

The other week i got the red ring of death, but the next morning it started to work again. Yesterday and other times i played the game would just freez. But yesterday i could not even start a game with out if freezing up. Now today, i turned it on, and i did not get the normal flashing green lights, i tried a few more times and then got the red ring of death? can anyone please help me?

xbox 360 elite has the red ring of death! i need help!!?

i have an xbox 360 elite. it has the red ring. it only has 2 lights flashing though. it comes on trys to read the disk but it says the disk is unplayable. i go to take the disk out and the red ring comes back everytime. it never fails. i did the towel trick. before that all it did was the red lights would flash. after i did the towel trick it came on tryed to load the game or movie. but it says unplayable. is there anyway i can fix this? please someone help me!!
