I sent in my console in for a free repair for the RROD-red rings of death.
The thing is, however, it actually doesn’t have that. It can’t read discs and the disc drive broke.
I even included a pretty well written and "sob story" note with it, saying it get the red rings OCCASIONALLY . It went through the entire process and says "Console shipped out", and it went past the "Repair" stages. Another odd thing is that they increased the regular warranty by 3 months as well..weird. So what do you think I’m going to expect back?

I have an inquiry for people with possible past experiences of Xbox disc drive problems. Heres the story my Xbox 360 was stolen a while back and I have no money to replace it being in the lower class of things. My friend has an Xbox 360 with a broken disc drive and said I can have it if I fix the drive. Everytime you put in a disc instead of saying play the game it says play DVD and brings you to a white screen with some text on it in a variety of languages. Is the best possible repair for this to buy a new Xbox disc drive and replace it myself or to send it to Microsoft and pay a whole lot more of money that will take me several months to come up with? And I am very educated with technology so putting in a new disc drive would not be the problem for me.

When I got my xbox 360 last year my friend acciedentally knocked it over and now everytime I want to put in or take out a game I need to actually hit or drop a decent amount just to get the disc drive to open. I did open the xbox in an attempt to fix it myself *this was shortly before the extended warranty* with no prevail. I was wondering if I were to send it in and pay the repair fee, if I am able to get a new drive? Possibly one of the BenQ? models

I sent my Xbox in to Radioshack so they can "repair" it. They sent me back an xbox that was entirely different. It had a different disk drive, hard drive, and casing/ serial number. The casing was extremely dirty when I received it, and the original box that I sent it in was different than the one that I recieved. The controller, headset, and Ethernet cable were not included and I actually had to wait another week for these to arrive. I sent it back to them and they sent me the exact same one and they told me that they had to change the motherboard because it was fried. He said that they also had to change the casing and disc drive supposedly. Does the casing and the disc drive have to be changed in order to change the motherboard? I think that they are lying to me because they probably couldn’t fix mine and gave me another refurbished one so they didn’t have to replace it.

I just sent in the Xbox 360(no cords,power buick,memory unit,controllers).Will they fix mine or sent me a new one.I got the arcade one and I like the all white.I dont like the crome disc drive.But I kinda want a new one because they have interior memory instead of a memory unit.THANKS!!

I’m on my third console already and i’m @#$!!&%!! steaming. When i shipped it in, I had the RROD and the disc drive would’t read the game. Now, a day after receiving it back, I turned on my console and it red rings on me, without any picture. Even worse, the disc tray won’t open and I have a game disc in it.

The disk is clean literaly i just popped in my xbox and I check the bottoms its shiny as can be, its been even in the packaging all day and I just decided to play it. As soon as I begin the first mission, right before you walk in this little building it gives me the error..
Can anyone help me???
Plus I recently repaired my xbox because of the 2 red lights and its worked since then so WtF!?!?

Um.. well i downloaded it to my hdd and it was sucessful problem is I still have problem at exact same point…
so it couldnt be my disc drive could it?

My xbox disc drive will not open without being hit on the top. Is there any easy ideas to fix it? Where could I send it to have it repaired and how much would it cost? Thanks.

I sent my 360 for repair and I wanted to know will my Xbox come faster since it’s not the Red Ring problem, its just something wrong with the laser or disc drive. and. Will they give me back my xbox, a new xbox or a old repaired Xbox??

are there any hardware stores that you know that will repair a xbox 360.. (like best buy or circuit city)

or would a place like Gamestop or EB Games repair a xbox 360

i think that theres something wrong with my disc drive because the system works fine, its just that it wont read ANY type of disc
my system is out of warranty so i dont want to pay the 0 just for something THEY messed up on
