Buy playstation 3 it has free online, xbox 360 you gotta pay like 50 bucks just to play online and u need to buy a wireless adapter which is another 100 bucks so buy a 80gb ps3 im sure u will be happy with it.

I have a ps3, and its great. It comes with the internet adapter built in, you have to pay 100 bucks for the xbox 1 i think. And ps3 online is free, xbox charges you each month. The only bad thing is the blu-ray games for ps3 are a lil more expensive than xbox games, but have higher quality. So i would say ps3.

  • Josh says:

Get the Xbox 360 Elite, the games are better and it has 140 gigs more memory, plus the online is much better than the PS3

I recommend the PS3 bcuz the PS3 can play video games from the PS2 and also bcuz you can go on the internet with it…

It has so many cool features in it…

Well, I hope I helped, Thanx

Xbox 360 has better games(Gears Of War 2, Halo 3, Mass Effect) and online play. PS3 has more advanced technology(bluetooth, internet browser, sixaxis controller).

if I were you I buy xbox 360 because xbox 360 have 120 GB ,xbox 360 have achivment ,xbox 360 the original and xbox 360 the fastest

i have both here is the run down
PS3 has awesome graffix 1080p and is far ahead of xbox and to play online is free W/ Wi Fi and if there any updated to the system you can do it online. XBOX graffix are nowhere as good(not bad at all) u have to pay to play online and the360 is outdated no built in wifi. if u want a xbox wait for therenext model it should be good.

First of all, if you end up getting the 360, I’d get a Pro instead of an Elite. It’s a much better value, unless you REALLY want the extra 60GB of space, which isn’t entirely necessary. You’d be much better off spending the leftover $100 on new games, a subscription to Live, or a wireless network adapter.

I have and enjoy both consoles, so I can safely say that it really depends on what you’re looking for. A LOT of factors play into which one would be a better fit for you.

First and foremost, ignore graphics comparisons between the two consoles. The 360 and PS3 are virtually identical in terms of power. Never let ANYONE’s opinion concerning graphics dissuade you from buying a console.

Second, consider what most of your real-life friends have. If a lot of them have 360′s, get a 360. If a lot of them have PS3′s, get a PS3. That way, you can join them online and not be left out.

Third, consider popular games that are exclusive to each console. For example, PlayStation 3 has Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, inFamous, Killzone 2, and so on and so forth, while Xbox 360 has Halo, Fable, Gears of War, Forza Motorsport, and so on and so forth. They’re only available for one console.

Fourth, get on terms with the controllers. Go to stores, mess around with demo stations a bit, see which ones feel more comfortable to you. This changes the experience a lot.

Fifth, consider price. PS3 is, on the surface, more expensive. Their strategy is to include everything in one box and only release one or two models. They offer a complete package right out of the box in order to avoid confusion. This is why it’s pricey. 360′s are "cheaper" because they sell features separately, since they want to let you choose which of those features you need. But if you add up the price of those accessories (WiFi, rechargeable controllers, online service), the 360′s price is almost equivalent to the PS3′s.

A fair warning to you if you buy a PS3. The console is NOT HD-ready out of the box. It does not have the cables. If you want to get the best out of your PS3, you’ll have to either purchase component cables or an HDMI cable in order to get high-definition, which is really only just another $10-20 or so; not that big of a deal. I only mention it because it causes a lot of consumer confusion.

One HUGE MASSIVE piece of advice, however. Don’t listen to consumer bias. Most of the people who tell you that one console is better don’t know nearly enough about the other console to make an educated opinion. For instance, in the answers below, I can point out about 7 false statements already. I will address them and correct them for your convenience.

I hope this helps you in making an educated decision. However, I can guarantee you that you will be satisfied with your purchase, no matter which console you buy. In the end, if you’re truly confused and unsure, yet your money is burning a HUGE massive hole in your back pocket, just go ahead and buy both! Then you get the best of both worlds.

Below, I’m going to address several of the other answers that were given by other members. Many of them are false, and I think it’s extremely important that you, the questioner, get the most accurate facts. All of their answers are in quotations; my corrections/comments follow.

"ps3 is getting better, but if you have a lot of friends that play xbox then go for that"

This is true. The PlayStation 3 is rapidly improving at an incredible pace. Its quality has improved drastically since launch. And again, he’s right in saying if your friends play Xbox, get that. The platform your friends play on is extremely important.

    Lucas C says…
"[playstation 3] has free online, xbox 360 you gotta pay like 50 bucks just to play online and u need to buy a wireless adapter which is another 100 bucks"

Aside from him only listing features in favor of PS3, these facts are true. He’s not mentioning what makes the 360 good, however. This is a one-sided opinion.

    Josh says…
"Get the Xbox 360 Elite, the games are better and it has 140 gigs more memory, plus the online is much better than the PS3"

The Xbox 360 Elite does NOT have 140GB memory, and certainly not 140GB MORE than the PS3. Whether the games or the online are better is relative.

    Jeremy says…

Blu-Ray games are not more expensive. They’re the same price as games on a regular DVD. Also, no, they’re also not guaranteed to be higher quality. Xbox Live’s wireless network adapter does indeed cost $100. Xbox Live only charges you once a year, though it’s a rather hefty $50.

"I recommend the PS3 bcuz the PS3 can play video games from the PS2 and also bcuz you can go on the internet with it…"

About BC, false. None of the current models of the PS3 feature ANY form of backwards compatibility with PS2 games. It’s gone from all PS3′s on the shelves. About browsing the web, yes, you can, but you can also do that on the 360 through the Media Center.

    Dixie Normous says…
"Xbox 360 has better games(Gears Of War 2, Halo 3, Mass Effect) and online play. PS3 has more advanced technology(bluetooth, internet browser, sixaxis controller)."

The PlayStation 3 also has some rather excellent games. The quality of the online play is relative, and also consider that PSN is free. Bluetooth is not necessarily more advanced than Xbox 360′s custom protocol. The Xbox 360 also has an internet browser. Sixaxis is true; the 360 has no motion capabilities, though it plans to combat this with the full body motion Project Natal in the future.

    The Best Psycho says…
"if I were you I buy xbox 360 because xbox 360 have 120 GB ,xbox 360 have achivment ,xbox 360 the original and xbox 360 the fastest"

Only the Elite model has 120GB. The PSN has trophies, which are similar to 360 achievements. The 360 came first, yes, but mind you, the Xbox brand has only existed for the last 10 years; PlayStation came WAY before that. Xbox is most certainly not the original. And by no means is Xbox 360 the fastest; that’s an absolute fallacy. Processor clock speeds between the PS3 and the 360 are almost the same.

    Nik says…

The 360 also has 1080p support, and mind you, most PS3 games only render at 720p and then get upscaled to 1080p. It is most certainly NOT far ahead of the 360. You do have to pay to play online and to get the WiFi, but that’s because Microsoft’s strategy is to give the customer choice, not force them to pay for features that they may not necessarily need.
