UPDATE! Don’t be fooled by people trying to sell you guides. THIS IS AMERICA AND THIS INFORMATION IS FREE if you look around for it you can always find the information you need for no money! ______ People keep asking “Why don’t you just use one of those DVD player lens cleaner disks with the brush?” Well. BECAUSE… the vibration they cause to the laser will knock them around and kill your drive and they are also not recommended by Microsuck. So it is safer to repair your drive this way if compressed air will not get all the dust off from the open drive tray. THIS IS ONLY FOR XBOX 360′s THAT ARE NO LONGER COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY!!! — Here I go a little more in depth to show how I fixed my Xbox 360 when It started reading games like they were DVD Videos. There are ways of getting the 360 open without the tool I use but it is hard without having six arms and the luck of the Irish… You can go to www.llamma.com for step by step case removal instructions.

When mine didn’t read disks I used too jump up n down on top of it becuase fort it was becuase the sinner thing tht spun the disk was too far awey lol so I bought a ps3 cuz pissed off but still got xbox so gonna fix it up n have both cuz I got 2 tvs lol. Thnx for showing
hey i have this same problem and even though i cleaned my drive it still wount read games, but it reads dvds just fine, any ideas on why its not working?

That’s exactly how its done! but the sad part to my story is for two reasons. 1) My parents don’t trust me to open mine (too bad for them i take most of it apart while their gone). 2) I can’t find most of the goddamn tools because my stepdad is a mechanic and godforbid should i swim through the garage’s tool “ocean” just to find the proper tool. Once he “teaches” me how to open it I will do whatever i can to fix it and i have high hopes of the outcome of your method. thanks for making this video
if you needed a screw driver to unsnap the front of xbox thens theres something wrong with you, and you dont need that (special tool) to remove the casing just a precision screwdriver thats all, lol in the time you took to remove the casing i would had the casing dvd drive xclamps ect ect allready taken out.
when i tryed to open mine without the tool i tryed for over a hour and then snapped the piece of shit! i got it now lol
Ok does anyone know why my Xbox says “can’t read disk” while I play games that are fully downloaded off the marketplace. It also occurs randomly throughout C.D. games. I have tried many different C.D.s and many different downloaded games and the same thing happens. It randomly says “cant read disk”. This really confuses me due to the fact that a lot of my games do not have a disk.
my xbox can play movies but when i put in a game it makes weird noises then a notice comes up can someone help me please

I’ve just fixed this problem on my girlfriends xbox by unpluging all leads then very gently turning the consol upside down then end to end,put it back in place and putting the disc back in while the consol is loading, hope it works for you all too
Cant you easily put it back together?
