How can i repair my xbox 360 disc without my parents finding out about it?

For Christmas my parents bought me guitar hero: world tour, I accidentally kicked the console and the disc doesn’t work. It is quite badly damaged. I have tried wiping in a circular motion but it still doesn’t work.

Yeah, if you bump the 360 console, it’ll damage the disc inside it. When that happens, it can leave some pretty nasty scratches… has happened to two of my games and neither of them work anymore. What you’d have to do is buy a CD scratch repair kit or take it into a store that removes scratches off discs. Wiping the disc won’t do any help to it, sorry. So basically, you’re going to have to pay to get it fixed.

I have a solution, if one of your friends have GHWT, borrow it and install it into your hard drive (assuming you have the new update for the 360). Then you can play the damaged version, and it would work. I’ve tried this with a few games and have been successful in all the tries.
Wiping it won’t work because the scratches are quite deep. If you don’t have a friend who has GHWT, you might have to take it back.
Keep in mind to keep you 360 flat, if it’s standing upright it is too prone to being knocked over easily and damaging your games.

Depending on how deep the scratch is, this might work.

Find some toothpaste, not the gel kind, but the white pasty kind. When you feel it it should be gritty. Take the disc and wash it off under the tap. Take the toothpaste and start rubbing it on the scratched area. The motion should originate from the center and head out to the edge of the disc. Do NOT rub in a circular motion, you will only further damage the disc. After buffing it with the toothpaste, wash it off. Now take some vasoline and polish the area with it. Wash that off, and try it out.

This exact thing happened to me with my Guitar Hero 2 disc, but the scratch was too deep and I was not able to fix it.

    Hope this helps!

Check out this tutorial video on how to buffer out any scratches with a banana. It works well, and best of all you can do it without tipping off your parents buying a scratch-removal kit etc.
