How can I avoid the red ring of death on my Xbox360?

Before I get an Xbox for Christmas, I need to know how to care for my 360. How can I avoid the red ring of death. Is there any way to fixit. How long is the warranty on the system… You know, things like that. Thanks for caring!

dont play 24/7. play casually. like 20 hours a week. dont over download on it dont turn it on and off. common sense. but it can happen to anyone. theres no avoiding it.
You get a 1 year warranty after you buy the 360 also you get another year if you get a RRoD. Things you can do to not get RRoD.
1. Keep it in a cool area.
2. Dont play for extended amounts of time because RRoD is due to overheating.
3. Keep the 360 in an open area so the fans have room to breathe.
RRoD are fixed for free if covered by warranty so I think you should be fine if it happens. So have a wonderful christmas and enjoy the gaming!!
