Easiest Way To Fix Red Ring Of Death Without Opening Xbox 360 / Towel Trick
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU ASK A QUESTION!!! HERES A LINK TO ALL THE RROD ERRORS AND WHAT THEY MEAN AND POSSIBLE SOULOUTIONS! : forums.xbox-scene.com PLEASE TAKE NOTE THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY!! THE LONGEST IT WORKED FOR ME WAS 2+weeks…THAT WAS THEN LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO BUY A NEW XBOX 360 ELITE… QUESTIONS BELOW: So why does this work? I discovered this when i was fiddling around with the xbox, i believe this works because the X clamps on the back are not tight enough, and when you apply pressure on the back of the xbox it places the clamps back into the correct position. It does not work? Make sure that you are placing your hands in the CENTRE of the xbox not the side(s). Also make sure that you are appliying enough pressure (not to much to break through the xbox, but enough that you can feel the case bend). IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH, PLEASE DO NOT STAND ON YOUR XBOX! Instead try to use your knee or elbow… you may break your xbox if you stand on it and i do not take responsibility if you do. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT THANKS! ignore the tags below. @battlecryer9 so your xbox 360 disk tray wont open when a disk is inside? Try standing the xbox up and ejecting the disk, or laying it down. If it still does not want to open look the problem up on youtube, there is a souloution where you use a pin. It works ive had the problem before.
You sir, are a genius! No way did I think this would work, hope it lasts awhile, cheers
ok i have a question that i cant find the answer to anywhere and im wondering id you can help or give me a video to show me how to fix the problem. when i press the power button on my 360 console the console starts with no problem but the rings nor the center light light up. its not just the lights being dead because say if i wanted to connect a controller (which i dont) the sensor will not work to connect it. it stopped doing it and lit up for about two months but its doing it again. any help?
@StrawbsShadow Glad i helped !
@RunWithoutScissors hmmm, i have just researched on several sites your problem… Have you dropped the xbox 360 at all? if this is the case you could have damaged your RF-Module board. HOWEVER this is not always the case, but if it is you will have to send it away to microsoft…However if you havent dropped it, try unplugging everything including the av cables and wipe the metal prongs or the metal part of the cables to ensure it has no debris or anything that would mess up the connection.CONT.
@RunWithoutScissors Then place it back into the console and tv.. if it still not working for you, try to use a different cable and TV just to isolate the problem. If the issue still persist.. its the system that has a problem. Not exactly the hardware but it would definitely the prongs at the back of the console. Now your only option is to send it back to microsoft…Hope i helped! thanks.
LOL you know you can buy triggers for the PS3 controller at Gamestop right!? LOL…go back to your 3 cored ATI based dell computer for a console that’s running 9gig DVD-9′s…and to put it into perspective, the PS3 runs off a nvidia based RSX Cell single core 7 microprocessor SPU/SPE setup running 55gig dual layered blu-rays that are defining the way games play and look with upto 16x anti-aliasing…not 2x AA like the 360 is stuck at. Just to put it into perspective XBOT.
the reason you get rrod is because the xbox has gotten so hot (about 100 degrees c minimum) that the solder on the gpu or cpu has become melted or weaker, causing the famous rrod which is A HARDWARE PROBLEM, the only way to properly fix it is to take your xbox apart and clean the dust out, and reattach the gpu and cpu with new thermal paste
@66night hmmmm… im wondering if u can help me with my xbox.
my problem is that i have 2 red rings and i cant fix it no matter what i try,
and ive tried everything from the towel trick to the penny trick and im
still not able to get the xbox to work.
can u help?
@slimshady147258 Basically, this is a last resort video… Which means that after trying this and possibly failing, you may have to send you xbox 360 away for repair or buy a new console. I can send you links to numerous fixes but its best to try this or send it away… Sorry i cant be more help.
@66night eh thanks for the help u could give but ima just buy a ps3 and a new xbox slim lols
<—- just got payed 4g's
@pixo45 lol
@AvEryBadApPLe lol
@66night Ok I was going to try to do this but my disc trey will not open and my GTA4 is stuck inside. So is there a way to get it open or will I just have to sacrifice my game?
@M3L0daTruth Look up on youtube “How to open xbox 360 disk tray” There is a simple tech. which requires you to use a pin. It opens the tray, so that means you wont have to sacrifice your game
lol looks like youre giving your xbox CPR!
NEVER USE THIS METHOD… THE XBOX 360 RROD IS MAINLY OF OVERHEATING!
PUTTING A TOWEL AROUND IT, THE HOT HAIR TRAPPED INSIDE WILL CONDENSATE . THAT WATER WILL COOLDOWN THE INSIDE PARTS AND ONE DAY…. POOF! IT NEVER WORKED AGAIN!
@marioluigi344 …and to think blowing a nintendo cartridge was the 1st step out of puberty.
its not working …how much pressure
@made4life22 Are you retarted? Sorry to ask the question seeing as you might not be able to read this, seeing as you just mis-read the title of my video. It says ” WITHOUT OPENING THE XBOX 360 OR USING THE TOWEL TRICK” Read it over and over and you might understand that i dont use the towel trick in this video. It also might be easier to actually VIEW the video before spamming this video with your utter shit. Good day sir.
@footbalfan44 Read the description.
@66night hey! how are you doing?
I mis-red the title…. my sincere apologies!
Either way i just wanted to give a more scientific explanation for not using the towel trick… once again i’m really sorry… great vid! my only objection is that when you compress the xbox360 like that ,You take the risk of smashing parts at a long term period of course…I’m sorry!
thanx man this actually worked for me….saved me a ton of money!!!
